The PBS Webinar supplemental online courses will be online for PBS employees (use your @pbs.org email address to register for free course access), beginning February 24th. The first course will be available for taking your baseline Friday, March 5th, 2021.
General announcement: At long last the RPG.Education online learning platform is back online. We have been offering online courses as far back as 1996, and undergone many different platform changes over the decades. In 2014 we began using Moodle, hosted at GoDaddy.com. Unfortunately they did not keep it updated as they were supposed to, and so, over time, eventually the platform crashed hard. Fortunately we had backups, but the the transfer to new hosting and restoration has been challenging.
We have also been overhauling some of the courses to map to the new Role-Playing Game Professional Professional Workbook formatting.
We have been working hard to recover all the data, including the students from that time, and we are restoring it now. All students that were enrolled at the time of the crash, will be receiving an additional 1 year free access to the courses you paid for back then. And we will be providing you with one additional free course with 1 year access as well.
We have also been adding additional integration between Moodle, Odoo, Jitsi, and other powerful tools to enhance the learning experience.
We are setting up dedicated courses for our new PBS Network Webinar participants, to enable them to enhance the their knowledge from the initial information provided during the live training webinars for the Public Broadcast System network employees.
We are also going to take care of the many students that were already enrolled in the previous platform.
Then we will take care of the many volunteers at RPG Research, to whom we have donated some specific courses to help them train their volunteers.
Then we will begin opening up registration to new students March 1st, 2021. (tentative).
